Clear the Inventory, Jensen!
Nvidia, the world’s most valuable company, the company with the best compliance and legal departments, and supposedly very strict about conducting due diligence on every single partner and customer, has denied numerous times, (I stopped counting) any wrongdoing or any smuggling. All Nvidia chips have been and are used legitimately by clients and partners that are not restricted by BIS.
Jensen, a good friend of the US administration, puts US national security as his company’s top priority, ensuring the US leads the AI race by strictly complying with every single export control and BIS rule.
For doing such a great job, Trump rewarded Nvidia with permission to ship H200s to China, so the company could clear its huge H200 inventory and avoid a write-off. Very nice of Trump. And Jensen, as a token of gratitude, has been collaborating with Lutnick’s BIS to make sure Nvidia fully complies with the newly revised rules, seemingly tailored for the H200. How thoughtful.
Jensen has also said for years that China’s military would not use American chips, specifically not Nvidia’s, calling the idea “nonsensical.” They do not need Nvidia chips. They do not want to build their army with American technology.
So when Lutnick asks Nvidia for a very basic KYC requirement to ensure China’s military does not gain access to the chips, apparently Nvidia DOES NOT AGREE?
I thought Nvidia was fully aligned with US national security concerns and made that its top priority in every due diligence process, as it has always claimed. So why not agree to KYC? If this is truly “nonsensical,” then agreeing should be easy, No?
So please, agree with Lutnick's team's terms and clear the inventory! They are all looking for you to make the right choice, obsessing over the H200 with one catalyst every three days.
Clear the inventory, Jensen!
Oh well… the irony.
